When the going gets tough, the tough gets going!

Finally a big marathon is over..Got over with 8 applications..

Let me share my feelings

For those who might think a Gmat to be stressful You gotta think again cause completing applications is a nightmare...

I just got over with 8 applications Phew! and have some more to go.......

For some statistics regarding the Investment

Approx application fees = 80-100 dollars

Approx cost of sending transcripts (US univ) = Rupees 1000

Approx cost foe forwarding GMAT and Toefl scores = 17 dollars each = 34 dollars

So that total cost of an application is approximately between 120-160 dollars

And that reminds me boy i have spent a lot of money.

But then I think if you want to achieve something thing in life you need to take a risk and at an age of 25 if I am not afraid of taking risks!

Let me share some funny moments

As you prepare your gmat one big change that it brings about is you are in its hangover for months.Your are surrounded by why and what questions like

If you are out on a dinner you would ask your friends

  • What are your short term and long term goals => What do you want for starters and what would you like for main course..

You catch a friend roaming in the town with a girl and when he gets back to the room you ask

  • what are your short term and long term goals => Are you just flirting or is it a start of something serious...

If you want a movie ticket for Friday first day

  • I am applying in Round 1 as it gets difficult in other rounds => I am booking advance
tickets as else the tickets will get sold out .

  • I am currently waitlisted in Round 1 => I found a man selling tickets in black and he said he would give the ticket to me incase he does not find a higher bidder.

Now these might not be totally the case as I have added little spice to it but yes saying that 80% of what I have said above is true will not be wrong and many would agree with me.

But my advice is the process of giving the GMAT and completing applications is rigourous but it makes u a better prepared and aware person. If you get frustrated or dejected it will not help but stay there and hang on till the end that is the true secret.Enjoy the dings as you would enjoy the accepts, after all what is destined to happen would eventually happen.

I will never forget what my dear friend Promod said during my days of struggle ..he said

Dude give your self credit that you are pulling your self hard for this,It is not easy for an Indian with 4.5 years of industry experience and leading a team and shouldering critical responsibilities to come back home from office and switch modes.

Give your self credit that you are probably amongst the 15% people who actually do this and think beyond.

This thought always gets smile on my face, makes me feel good about my self,I feel confident and ready for the fight and I would fight hard till the last minute!
