BACK TO SCHOOL

Howdy Folks,

I have been waiting to write this post from a long time. But my life has been really tough during the last 2 months.
Learnings-
  • Always have a first name and a last name incase you plan to study or work abroad(It is not that big a problem as there are ways to workaround. For example I do not have a last name in such cases I-20 would say last name Shivramakrishnan and First Name - FNU ) Incase you have come accross such a situation dont worry this is an exceptable way for the US embassy for Visa. But have a surname to avoid all the tension and extra effort.
  • Dont get paranoid about the Visa Unless there is something really strange your visa will not be rejected.Remember you should have sufficient liquid funds (cash,FD'S preferably).A CA certified asset statement is not required and will not add any extra vale to your application ,though will cost you extra money.
  • Once you arrive in the US make sure that your I-20 and I-94 both are stamped by the immigrations as else you will have to go back to the airport and get it done.
  • Always carry a hand carry luguage which has wheels,Else believe me you will not have a great journey.

I am at Texas A&M university and will be joining MAYS business school. This is my second time outside of India.Today is day 1 of my MBA orientation and I am looking forward to it.It is going to be at the grand George Bush Presidential Library. What exites me the most is that I will be studying with a group of people with diverse backgrounds, age distribution and experience. That means a lot of value addition to an individual's outlook.

The campus of Texas A&M is second to none. You step your foot inside the campus and you get that feel of a college town which we all dream to study in. Students driving cycles , greenary, students sitting at starbucks coffee and sipping the caffeine and browsing.Isnt that something we all dream about??

I am really happy that I am going to be studying here,I have to make sure I make the best of this oppurtunity, make my studies here an enjoyable experience as I dont think I will be back to school again post my MBA degree.

Wish me good luck for day1 and I shall be back soon!

Cheers!
